She has a lecture on the history of Japan through the eyes of a braider called Kumihimo: From Defense to Decoration. Her interest is in documenting the definitive set of designs for various braid structures. The first book, The Thirty-Seven Interlacements of Hira Kara Gumi, is out of print. The other two are available at her website: The Twenty-Four Interlacements of Edo Yatsu Gumi and Kongō Gumi A Cacophony of Spots-Coils-Zags-Lines (showing the 1,157 two-color designs.)
