I have been researching and developing Ply-Split Braiding since 1990 to make wearable and sculptural pieces. My work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe and USA and I enjoy working to commission. I give talks and workshops on Ply-Split Braiding, with reference to my collection of Animal related textiles from India as well as my own work. I have taught Ply-Split Braiding and Decorative twisted cord making to groups throughout the UK and in India, Italy and USA. I have written 4 books on Ply-Split Braiding: An introduction; Further Techniques; Ply-Splitting in three-dimensions; and (new in 2015) Ply-split braided jewellery.

Rosalie teaches workshops in Marudai braiding, from beginning level (4- and 8-element braids) to more advanced levels (16- and 32 element braids). She has a lecture on the history of Japan through the eyes of a braider called Kumihimo: From Defense to Decoration. Her interest is in documenting the definitive set of designs for various braid structures. The first book, The Thirty-Seven Interlacements of Hira Kara Gumi, is out of print. The other two are available at her website: The Twenty-Four Interlacements of Edo Yatsu Gumi and Kongō Gumi A Cacophony of Spots-Coils-Zags-Lines (showing the 1,157 two-color designs.)
