The Braid Society organises conferences and other events such as Try Braiding Days and Workshops or attending shows such as Woolfest, Wonderwool and Yarndale.

Our next conference is Braids 2022 and we have a full programme of workshops and lectures.  Click here for more details.

If you are looking for an introduction to braiding, an opportunity to learn a new braiding technique or space to continue your braids and bands amongst like-minded braiders, why not Try Braiding or Workshops

Try Braiding Days are run by Braid Society members and are open to everyone.

Workshops are held in person or online.  Currently, our online workshops are free to participate and instructions on how to join in are provided below.

How to join in with the Online Workshops

Each of our online workshops is run by an expert braiding tutor over 3 – 4 weeks via written instructions and live Zoom sessions.  The Zoom sessions are recorded and available to view for 1 week after each session.

Weeks 1 and 2 are delivered via BraidsandBands on groups.io.  If you are not already on BraidsandBands, you will need to create an account on groups.io and ask to join the BraidsandBands group as follows:

  • Click on “Sign up” and create an account using your email address and a password of your choice (at least 6 characters long) and click on “create an account”.

  • You will be sent a confirmation email.  Click on the link within the email to confirm your account.  This takes you back to the website and enables you to customise your account, find groups and create groups.

  • To find “BraidsandBands”, click on “Find groups”, search for “BraidsandBands” and click on the link.

Week 3 of our online workshops is offered to Braid Society members only.  Members should log into this website, go to the MEMBERS’ AREA and click on BRAIDS WORKSHOP FORUM.  Each workshop is listed and the messages and downloads are posted into the workshop files.  If you subscribe to the Forum, or to a particular workshop, you will receive email notifications when new information is posted.

If you have any problems registering with BraidsandBands or logging into the website, contact admin “at” braidsociety.com.

If you are not yet a member of The Braid Society, go to MEMBERSHIP on this website and find out how to join us.
