Please read more about it at https://www.christiansminde.dk/en/frontpage/.   There are excellent facilities for our meeting, as well as opportunity for walking, hiking, biking and more outdoor activities. If you arrive at the Copenhagen Airport or main train station, it is an easy 2½ hour train ride to Svendborg (tickets can be bought at the airport). The hotel is 2 km from the Svendborg train station, about 4 minutes by taxi, Dkr. 115 for one, less if you share. More details about travelling to Svendborg will be announced later.

All our workshops, bazaars and tutors’ exhibition will take place here as well.  There are both stairs and elevators to reach the various areas and the hotel caters for participants with disabilities such as wheelchairs. 

Our meals will be served in the restaurant overlooking the sea; the hotel’s kitchen is famed for its use of fresh, local foods.   The hotel can cater for a wide variety of diets and we will be asking about this when you register.   Coffee/tea and fruit and snacks will be served during the day.

Check in: Sunday August 14, check out Saturday August 20 (6 nights, all meals, coffee breaks, fresh fruit, etc. from Sunday evening to Saturday morning's breakfast. The festive farewell dinner Friday evening is included).

The accommodation fee covers the cost of all meals and snacks as well as room for 6 nights.  

The organisers will help match people wanting to share.  The price per person in a double room is  Dkr. 6260 (in Oct 2021, this is about US $993; about £722; about €841).   The price per person in a single room is  Dkr. 7820 (in Oct 2021, about US $1240; about £905; about €1051).

There is a separate conference fee, which covers all workshops, lectures, taster sessions, farewell dinner, conference/goodie bag, printed Proceedings and an evening cruise.   

The conference fee for participants is  Dkr. 2400 (in Oct 2021, this is about US $380; about £277; about €322).

Accompanying persons will pay a reduced conference fee of Dkr. 1000 (in Oct 2021, this is about US$ 158, about £114, about €134)

+1s are welcome if sharing a room with a participant; the reduced conference fee covers the evening cruise, farewell dinner, access to exhibitions and lectures. 

Extra nights:

Participants may pay for extra nights before and after the conference, if available, directly to the hotel. 

Booking for the Conference

Registration will begin in November when a deposit must be paid.   By paying a deposit, you'll be able to book a hotel room and choose which workshops you wish to attend. 

Deposit: Dkr. 1000 (about US $158; £114; €134).    The remainder of the fees will be due before the conference begins. 

Details of how to register and pay the fees will be published on the website before November when registration will open.    This will include instructions on how to pay by credit card.   This deposit will be fully refundable until February 1, 2022.

Other activities:

The organising committee are looking at an optional afternoon excursion, for example to the new Hans Christian Andersen Museum in Odense, a small linen factory and museum, an historic Danish manor house.  There would be an extra charge for this.

There may be a "Come and Try" session on Saturday August 20 in the afternoon, for volunteers willing to stay an extra night.

Cancellation Policy

We have been asked about whether there is a cancellation policy that is given here.   We strongly advise that you take out Travel Insurance when you book for the Conference so that you can claim a full refund, should you not be able to attend.

Until May 10 you may claim a full refund

Until July 10, if you have to cancel, we will refund 50%

After July 10 there is no refund.
